What We Do

We believe God has called us to meet the needs in Appalachia for re-entry programing, transitional housing, feeding programs, and a Church. Our mission is to build a home that will serve as a refuge and sanctuary in the mountains. A safe place for women to come when they need transitional housing. A place where women won’t have to trade favors to meet their basic needs. A place where they can work on life skills they desperately need to start life over with their families and be contributing citizens in their communities. A place where children and youth can gain leadership skills to support their physical, mental, and spiritual development.

“If we as a society don’t come around the women in our jails by helping them to get established, they’re going to turn back around and end up right back in jail. With what Smoky Mountain Dream Center is doing, they’re helping these ladies to keep from going back, and by investing in these children, they’re protecting them from ever getting into the jail system.”
